We’re Opening Our Doors!

A Studio Dream Realized at Danse Chelsea Dance

We are so happy to announce the opening of Studio Danse Chelsea, a brand-new creative space dedicated to dance, movement, community, and artistic expression right in the heart of Chelsea, Quebec.

This dream has been more than two years in the making, and more than a decade of imagining. What began as a quiet vision, to build a space for deep artistic exploration and connection, has now come to life. A heartfelt thank you to Juxta Architects and Fab Structures for helping to turn this dream into something real and beautiful.

This moment is deeply personal for me. Dance, community-building, and the creative process have shaped my life for over 30 years. From founding and guiding Guelph Dance, a nationally recognized organization still thriving after 27 years, to launching Guelph Youth Dance, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this fall, and more recently taking the reins of Danse Chelsea Dance in 2022, each step has affirmed how vital the arts are in building resilient, joyful, and expressive communities.

These experiences have also revealed a deep personal longing: to create a space that not only welcomes others but also nurtures my own creative practice. Studio Danse Chelsea is that space—a place to roll on the floor, meditate, move freely, and reconnect with the essence of dance and movement practices. A space to be. Just a few steps from home, surrounded by the serenity of Chelsea and the wild beauty of Gatineau Park, this studio is my place to breathe, play, and explore what’s next.

A Space for the Community

A space this full of light, energy, and possibility is meant to be shared.

While Danse Chelsea Dance will continue to offer classes at La Fab sur Mill, our new studio at 1337 Route 105 (de la Rivière exit) will allow us to expand our programming, adding more classes, more opportunities, and greater accessibility for families in Chelsea, Wakefield, and surrounding areas.

Our Dream for Studio Danse Chelsea

We dream of a studio that is:

A home for creativity. Where dancers, musicians and theatre artists can train, rehearse, explore and create.
A residency destination. A place where artists can retreat into nature, immerse themselves in their work, and be inspired by the Gatineau River and Park.
A playground for children. Children ages 3–10 will discover dance, theatre, yoga, and visual arts both indoors and outdoors in our unique summer camps.
A gathering place. Imagine intimate house parties with live music, improvised dance, and joyful community celebration.

Chelsea and the Outaouais are brimming with creative energy, and Studio Danse Chelsea is one more part of this vibrant community.
