When do classes start?

Our Winter/Spring session begins the week of January 19th, 2026 and ends May 8th. We have Open Houses scheduled for the week of May 11-15th for all Creative Dance and Pre-Ballet classes and a Spring Show at the Wakefield Community Centre on May 9th for classes ages 6-13 years. Please see your parent portal calendar for details.

The Open House schedule is not the same as your regularly schedule class.

WHERE DO CLASSES TAKE PLACE?

We have two locations for our classes. Please be sure you are in the correct place. Classes take place at La Fab sur Mill, 8 Mill Street as well as Studio Danse Chelsea, 1337 Route 105. There is limited parking at both locations. At La Fab you can also park across the street at the Marche Richelieu and at Studio Danse Chelsea there is additional parking on McCarthy Street. You can find the location of your class on your portal under ‘Student” where you will find your class details.

What is Class Capacity?

Class capacity depends on which studio the dancer is in and the age range of the students. Capacity ranges from 12-18 students. Classes with younger children have teacher assistants when capacity is greater than 10.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. A $30 registration fee is non-refundable. If you would like to cancel your registration you will be charged a $25 drop-in fee per class for each class in the season to date which will be refunded the balance. No refunds will be offered after 4 weeks into a session.

STUDIO CLOSING/INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 1:00 p.m. regarding the status on classes for that evening or 8am for morning classes.  Please do the following:

  1. Check your e-mail and/or your phone– we will send out a studio-wide message through both email and text.
  2. Call the studio if you have questions: 819-208-2347

Please note that your families safety is of the utmost importance to us and we trust that you will make the decision that works best for your family should the school remain open.

Students can make up any missed classes due to inclement weather any time during the season as per our make-up policy.

MAKING UP MISSED CLASSES

You can make up any missed classes by taking any class offered that is in the same age range or lower. Make ups must occur in the season you are registered for. Please email the studio at dansechelseadance@gmail.com to arrange a time to make–up the class so we can ensure there is space for you to attend.

You will see a report in the portal under the attendance icon of all missed classes so you know the total number of classes you can make up.

I am on a waiting list- what are my chances of getting into the class?

We will make every effort to ensure everyone can dance.  Sometimes it means just juggling the spots available. We will also try to add classes at the same or similar time to ensure everyone has a spot when possible. We highly recommend putting yourself on a waiting list if the class you wish to take is full.

This is my child’s first dance class- what if they want me to stay close by?

In order to foster independence in each child and encourage the children to focus and develop relationships with the teacher and assistants, parents are not permitted into the classroom. Parents can drop their dancers off up to 15 minutes prior to class. Once signed in parents will then return at the end of the class for pick up at the side of the building. We do recommend a quick drop off as this is generally much easier for the young child. All emergency contact information is available to teachers as it is connected to our studio software. Parents will be contacted if a child requires their support.

We do, however, recognize that sometimes exceptions must be made and your child will need you to accompany them to their class or stay closer by. If this is the case, then we can make an exception and highly encourage the parent to dance with us rather than watch the class.

When is tuition due?

Full tuition is due when registering to ensure your spot in the class. Please be sure to either pay by sending an e-transfer dansechelseadance@gmail.com or by paying online through the Parent Portal. Payment plans can also be arranged.

Do you have financial assistance?

Chelsea Dance would like to ensure accessibility to all students. Please contact us if you require financial assistance through our Jeane Walsh-Shea Scholarship Fund.
