Jeane Walsh-Shea Scholarships
The Jeane Walsh-Shea Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory of Jeane Walsh-Shea, daughter of Kelsey and Ryan and sibling to Margo.
Established in January 2026, the Fund provides financial support to young people who may not otherwise have the resources to attend Danse Chelsea Dance classes, programs, or camps. Scholarship applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until funds are fully allocated.
About Jeane Walsh-Shea
In the words of her parents:
She was our wonderous, observant,and surprisingly strong baby. She loved music, being outside, snuggling, and watching her sibling whirl around the room. There is no verb tense that feels right when speaking about our sweet Jeane. She is physically gone and she continues to be with us in the falling snow, the gusts of wind, the songs of the bobolinks, the fields of asters, the changing leaves. She will always be in our hearts, tucked in where it’s warm and cozy. And she is in our stories, in our feelings, and in the gardens and forests where we spent so much time with her.
Scholarship & Subsidy Application
Families seeking financial support for Danse Chelsea Dance are invited to apply to the Jeane Walsh-Shea Scholarship Fund.
Please include the following information in your application:
- Dancer’s name
- Dancer’s date of birth
- Parent/guardian’s name
- Parent/guardian’s email address
- Parent/guardian’s phone number
- Whether you are requesting a full or partial subsidy
- The class, program, or camp you are interested in
- A Statement of Need, explaining how this subsidy would support the dancer and their family

Important Notes
While we make every effort to support as many families as possible, scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of scholarships granted each year depends on the total amount of funding requested. In some cases, we are able to offer full subsidies; in others, partial subsidies may be provided.
